Established by Dr. Kerry Bowman in 2000, the
Great Ape Fund was created to support various conservation-related
programs in Africa.
Current Canadian Ape Alliance initiatives include the Kahuzi
Beiga Environmental School, the Tshivanga Station cassava
mill, and an ongoing GIS assessment that is helping to map
one of the remotest and most unspoiled regions of the Congo.
